AAC All Aluminum Conductor
Construction:
AAC is composed entirely out of 1350-H19 aluminum wires.
Conductor Properties:
AAC has a good corrosion resistance due to being composed out of aluminum wires only, it has low price, minimum conductivity of 61.2% IACS low breaking strength and high creep values. AAC has the highest conductivity per weight among all bare overhead conductors.
Applications:
AAC is recommended for use where high current transfer is required in short spans making it idle for use in urban areas.
Standards:
AAC bare conductors meet or exceed the following ASTM specifications:
B-230 Aluminum Wire, 1250-H19 for Electrical Purposes
B-231 Aluminum Conductors, Concentric-Lay-Stranded
B-400 Compact Round Concentric-Lay-Stranded Aluminum 1350 Conductors
